Vernissage: 15th of August 2011, Talent Gallery (Stockholm)

One of the best-known Swedish athlete is without a doubt the tennis player and former legend — Björn Borg. And even though tennis is certainly a popular sport  worldwide it had never crossed my mind that I would one day be on an art exhibition dedicated to this specific game.

Despite being in general an anti-sportist —and far from being a Tom & Jerry fan— I was very fond of the exhibition and the uncommon and almost surreal blend of tennis, famous cartoon characters and sweet candy. It was tastefully and smartly set-up in a small but bright space, with every little detail located in an exactly right place.

Regarding the name of the exhibition, “Sweet dreams are made of this” —along with some of the art work titles, e.g.“Home sweet home”— it was obvious that the artist’s own nostalgia was in the foreground when creating the work.

A work resulting in an overall fascinating, tasteful and delicious exhibition.

And touching upon nostalgia— I loved the idea of the colorful tiny candy bags. Yummie-Yum!
