YFIRSÝN

Closed: 23rd of October 2011, Hafnarborg (Hafnarfjörður)

Emotional landscapes.

Words don´t come easy when you feel spiritually exalted by mother´s nature beauty.

Photographs by Konsthopp

Sigurgeir Sigurjónsson has long been renowned for his landscape photography. In his latest exhibition “Yfirsýn” or “Earthward”, he made aerial photographs of the dramatic Icelandic nature. The photos are now available in a same-titled book; Yfirsýn but Sigurgeir has published numerous photographic art books in the past. Examples includes; Lost in Iceland from 2002 and Icelanders with Unnur Jökulsdóttir from 2004.

I´m going to end these words with a lyric from one of my favorite Björk´s song, Joga.

Emotional landscapes,
They puzzle me,
Then the riddle gets solved,
And you push me up to this

State of emergency,
How beautiful to be,
State of emergency,
Is where I want to be.
