CRAFTED WORLDS

Vernissage: 9th of June 2011, Stene Projects (Stockholm)

Crafted World by Per Fhager is a colorful trip into the commence of the gaming world were embroidery and craftsmanship come across with the contemporary arts – creating a universal story “never told before”.

The exhibition is presented by Stene Projects, a commercial platform for contemporary arts and ideas. Their aim is to be a dynamic transfer station for art, ideas or any expression that represents our time. They believe that Fhager’s embroideries are a symbol for this ambition.

“The combination of technical progress parallel with cultural baggage is an interesting socio economical aspect for understanding the work of Per Fhager. Per creates something permanent from a transient movement”

RETRO VIDEO GAMES, I-III GENERATION

Vernissage: 14th of April 2011, Urban Outfitters (Stockholm)

In the beautiful local of one of Stockholm’s old movie theater, the pop fashion retailer, Urban Outfitters, now has an ongoing exhibition of the game-art.

According to the curator Olof Löf, this type of art has become an established concept within the art world as artists are influenced from games both in physical work as well as using their art in video games.

With a charming contrast to the painted ceilings and golden details of the old movie theater, the game-art exhibition is a great addition to this funky store of fashion, vintage, design and books, which at the opening night seemed to attract a delightful mix of different people.

Artists: Arne Kjell, Kristoffer Zetterstrand, Johan Thurfjell and Andreas Ribbung.
