“I FORGET. I DO SEEM TO FORGET”

Artist talk: Yi Shen (China)

People tend to be divided when it comes to art. Especially when it comes to the discussion of the concept. The meaning of the word.  — Art — Arte — Konst — Kunst — List — 藝術

Frank Zappa (1940-1993) once said; “Art is making something out of nothing and selling it”. Most artists we know today might not agree with the world famous icon.

In our “artist talk” we have had different views about the concept as well. One pointed out that; art is nature, another that; art is transformer; art is a bitch and art is important. Our latest participant surprisingly thinks that; art is useless.

Yi Shen is a talented newly graduated jewelry designer and our candidate of this week “artist talk”. Konsthopp spotted her out at the Konstfack Degree Exhibition 2011 were she exhibit an eye catching collection “Ourselves Beside Me.”

You can read the full interview with Yi Shen here.
